Prayer????

St. Paul says that we should pray constantly. How can you make each and every moment of your day a prayer? Ex: eating, sports, etc.

  1. Paul says to offer everything up in prayer...that doesn't mean pray constantly. after all, jesus didn't pray 100% of his lifetime - he did pray a lot, but not ALL the time, and he was perfect!
  2. before eating say a prayer. before a game in sports teams will say prayers at bedtime say prayers when in despair say a prayer when you are in church say prayers.
  3. Just cultivate the practice, it becomes a way of life if you do.
  4. It means to not stop praying, just like you wouldn't quit talking to a family member or close friend. Just keep a prayerful attitude, you don't have to be saying a prayer all the time, just be ready to listen to the Lord and talk to him whenever you can.
  5. I'm an Atheist. I don't pray because I can think for myself and have better things to do with my time. P.S. Santa is a fairytale also.
  6. When someone or something pops into your head, pray for them or a situation. Constantly giving thanks to God for his many blessings throughout the day too.
  7. By understanding that praying means to ask the meaning of something.
  8. He said to pray incessantly. But obviously you don't have to take that literally. Instead, we should stay in communication w/ God as often as we can. When you have a quiet moment, or something is weighing on your mind, talk to God. It's advice to live our lives in harmony w/ His will. To always remember that God is invisible, but we aren't, so we should try to act like we deserve God's love.
  9. Did mommy tie your shoes today? Think about it. God has given you a brain for just that purpose.><>
  10. Do everything in the Name of the Father and of the Son the Holy Spirit.
  11. you don't have to pray every monent of the day. the idea is more to keep god on your mind. like thank him for the little things like getting to a destination safely. if you keep thinking of him you'll have a better relationship with him and want to do right by him.
  12. You can pray constantly by having a "running" conversation going with God at all times. It becomes a habit after a while.
  13. Good question.....The aswer lies in staying in constant communion with the Father thru Jesus Christ.
  14. Prayer is something that happens in your mind and spirit. You don't need to move your mouth or close your eyes to pray. When you eat, thank God, but chat with him, too. Tell him how much you're enjoying it, or how you wish there was some more pepper. When you're playing sports, keep the dialogue open. Share with him what you're thinking and feeling the same way you'd chat with your friends about the game. The point and purpose is openness and fellowship with your creater. Praying continually is hanging out with God.
  15. LOL I have read stories about monks that would try this. Many made it as long as a day but that was it. The way I deal with that is to always remember that GOD is right here right now and all I have to do is say "hi".Like right now I know he knows more about why I am typing this then I ever will. Its not Prayer without ceasing but it is a knowledge that bidden or not bidden GOD is present. May GOD richly bless you.
  16. Do you know, when you talk to God, you're praying. So as you do whatever you're doing and you talk to God, you are praying. As you drive your car, talk(pray) to God, As you begin to play sports, talk(pray) to God, and of course when you eat. So pray without ceasing means, you are constantly talking to God.
  17. Praying doesn't mean you have to be on your knees with your hands folded looking to heaven each time. If you need something just ask God for help. He probably knows what you need before you know you need it.
  18. That is not what he ment and you know it. It is saying to pray dayly. Pray when you get up , pray before each time you eat and pray when you go to bed. Now I know you the answer to your own question. The Lord loves you and always will. if you are a sinner we all are. The Lord will forgive you.
  19. it just means keep an attitude of prayer. whenever you feel an urge to pray go ahead. If we went into our prayer closets and stayed there we would not accomplish the will of god in our lives. when ever you see a need pray for it. Just keep that attitude all day.
  20. *My secret* is to view each moment through the eyes of the "Unknown biblical character" JABEZ. Consider his situation at that time, he was the 3rd of three brothers; the "unknown saint." In spite of this preset recognition faux pas, he stood up with the faith that the Almighty was helping him. Jabez recognised each moment in his life as a continual blessing and he kept in touch by continually praying. 1Ch. 4:9-10 explains his story.
  21. If I start my day with prayer... praying for knowledge of God's will for me and the power to carry that out. Asking that my actions, words and thoughts bring Him glory and honor.... and I end my day in thanksgiving to God, giving him praise and confessing my faults... then the whole day is covered... especially since I am thinking about Him and the promise I made in the morning or the things I will have to talk with Him about at night. My work can be a form of prayer. Whenever I have tasks that are tedious and demeaning I try to remember the big picture and offer myself to God remembering that while my boss may not notice my effort, my attitude or my willingness to help out.... My God will.
  22. I do my prayer everyday in the morning, as following: " Thank you, God. Thanks, and thanks again, for this present circumstance and condition, for this perfect moment in this perfect day, allowing me to perfectly create the experience of perfection itself, in me, through me, as me. Thank you for giving me, once again, the opportunity to know You, to experience Your Presence, and to express that presence in every moment of my life. For I live and breathe and have my being not so that I may move through each day without challenge, but so that I might challenge myself each day to move closer and closer to Thee, in Whom I will find my True Identity and the glory and wonder of Life Itself. Amen & amen"
